Pratt & Whitney Proposes New Airworthiness Directive for Turbofan Engines to Address Rupture of Diffuser-to-High-Pressure Turbine Case Flange
Pratt & Whitney is proposing a new airworthiness directive for certain turbofan engines to address a rupture of the diffuser-to-high-pressure turbine case flange, which could lead to uncontained engine failure and damage to the airplane. The proposed directive would require a one-time eddy current inspection and fluorescent-penetrant inspection of affected engines.
