Default Electronic Disclosure by Employee Pension Benefit Plans Under ERISA

The Department of Labor proposes a new safe harbor for employee benefit plans to furnish information to participants and beneficiaries using electronic media, allowing plan administrators to provide a website notice and enabling individuals to opt out of electronic delivery. The proposal aims to improve disclosure effectiveness and reduce costs and burden associated with ERISA disclosures.
