FCC Modifies 900 MHz B/ILT Band Freeze to Expedite Public Safety Communications

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has lifted a freeze on new authorizations in the 900 MHz Business and Industrial Land Transportation (B/ILT) Pool, allowing qualified entities to file applications for new authorizations in National Public Safety Planning Advisory Committee (NPSPAC) regions before Sprint Nextel completes its 800 MHz rebanding efforts, promoting spectrum efficiency and reducing delays in public safety communications.
