Department of Justice Proposes Amendment to DNA-Sample Collection Regulations

The Department of Justice is proposing to amend regulations requiring DNA-sample collection from individuals arrested, facing charges, or convicted, as well as non-US persons detained under US authority. The proposed change will restore the Attorney General's authority to direct all relevant agencies to collect DNA samples from these individuals.
