Change in Discount Rate for Water Resources Planning

The U.S. government is required to annually determine a discount rate for water resources planning, as mandated by the Water Resources Planning Act of 1965 and the Water Resources Development Act of 1974. The discount rate for fiscal year 2015 is 3.375 percent, used to convert future monetary values to present values.
