NHTSA Receives Petition for Importation of Nonconforming 2005 Mercedes-Benz G-Class MPVs

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has accepted a petition to allow the importation of 2005 Long-Wheel Base Mercedes-Benz G-class multi-purpose passenger vehicles that do not meet all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, as they are substantially similar to U.S.-certified versions and can be modified to comply with safety regulations.
