USPTO Eliminates Patents Search Templates Due to Low Usage and Need for Updates

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is discontinuing the use of Patents Search Templates, which were introduced in 2006 to aid in patent searches, due to extremely low public usage and the need for updates, particularly with the introduction of the Cooperative Patent Classification (CPC) system in 2013.
