EPA Amends Polymer Exemption Rule to Exclude Certain Perfluorinated Polymers

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is amending the polymer exemption rule under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) to exclude polymers containing perfluorinated compounds, such as PFAS and fluorotelomers, from premanufacture notification (PMN) requirements. This change aims to reduce the risk of exposure to these chemicals, which are known to have harmful health and environmental effects.
