FDA Permits Hydrogen Peroxide as Antimicrobial Agent in Food Production

The FDA is allowing the use of hydrogen peroxide as an antimicrobial agent in modified whey production, following a petition from Fonterra (USA), Inc. The change is aimed at improving food safety, particularly in the ultrafiltration process.
