FAA Proposes New ELT TSO and Withdraws Existing Authorizations

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is proposing a new technical standard order (TSO) for 406 MHz emergency locator transmitters (ELTs) and intends to withdraw authorizations for existing ELTs that use hook and loop fasteners. The FAA seeks public comment on the proposed TSO and the withdrawal of certain ELT TSO authorizations.
