NMFS Prohibits Catcher Vessels Under 50 Feet from Hook-and-Line Fishing for Pacific Cod in Gulf of Alaska

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has prohibited catcher vessels under 50 feet in length from using hook-and-line gear to catch Pacific cod in the Gulf of Alaska. This measure aims to prevent the overfishing of Pacific cod by these vessels, which is nearing its annual limit set in 2012.
