Common Formats for Patient Safety Data Collection and Event Reporting Released by HHS

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has released the expanded Common Formats Version 1.0 for patient safety data collection and event reporting, allowing healthcare providers to voluntarily submit standardized information regarding patient safety events, as authorized by the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act of 2005.
