California High Speed Train Project Environmental Impact Statement

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and the California High-Speed Rail Authority will jointly prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Palmdale to Bakersfield section of the proposed California High Speed Train (HST) System, in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). This is part of a larger environmental review process initiated in 2001, which also led to the approval of the statewide HST system for travel between Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, and San Diego.
