Extension of Comment Period for Internal Revenue Excise Tax Drawback Proposal

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is extending the comment period for two related proposed rules, including one to amend the Code of Federal Regulations to prevent the filing of substitution drawback claims for internal revenue excise tax paid on imported merchandise, until December 14, 2009.
