VA Establishes Presumption of Service Connection for ALS

The Department of Veterans Affairs has adopted a final rule establishing a presumption of service connection for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) for veterans who develop the disease after separation from service, based on a 2006 report by the National Academy of Sciences Institute of Medicine.
