Coast Guard Proposes Establishment of Vessel Traffic Service on Lower Mississippi River

The US Coast Guard is proposing to establish a Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) on the Lower Mississippi River, which would manage vessel traffic and improve navigation, safety, and waterway operations, building on current practices and AIS-based systems.
