NMFS Announces Rescission of Prohibition on Atlantic Herring Fishing in Management Area 2

Summary

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has lifted the ban on catching more than 2,000 pounds of Atlantic herring in Management Area 2, allowing vessels with federal permits to fish and land herring in excess of this limit, effective December 10, 2009, until the 95% quota threshold is met.
