Coast Guard to Enforce Safety Zone in Chicago Harbor for Fireworks Events

The U.S. Coast Guard will enforce a safety zone in Chicago Harbor, near Navy Pier, from December 4, 2009, to January 1, 2010, to ensure public safety during fireworks events. The zone will restrict vessel movement before, during, and after the events, requiring permission from the Captain of the Port Lake Michigan to enter the area.
