Regulatory Relief for End of Car Cushioning Units

The U.S. government has amended regulations to provide permanent relief for freight cars with end-of-car cushioning units (EOCCs) that are in service, even if they have oil droplets on the unit, as long as they are equipped with a unit condition indicator (UCI) that shows the EOCC is operational.
