Federal Acquisition Regulation; Justification and Approval of Sole-Source 8(a) Contracts

The Department of Defense (DoD), General Services Administration (GSA), and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) are issuing an interim rule to amend the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to implement section 811 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2010. This rule change aims to ensure that agencies obtain proper Justification and Approval (J&A) prior to awarding 8(a) sole-source contracts exceeding $20 million, as mandated by section 811.
