VA to Grant Presumption of Service Connection for ALS to Veterans

The Department of Veterans Affairs is amending its regulations to establish a presumption of service connection for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) for veterans who develop the disease after their military service, following a recommendation by the National Academy of Sciences Institute of Medicine.
