TWIC Implementation Extended for Maritime Sector Facilities

The deadline for maritime sector facilities in Captain of the Port Zones Buffalo, Duluth, Detroit, Lake Michigan, and Sault Ste. Marie to implement access control procedures using Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) has been extended to December 1, 2008, due to a power outage at the government facility housing the TWIC system on October 21, 2008.
