Land Withdrawals; Amendment of Regulations Regarding Emergency Withdrawals

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has amended its emergency withdrawal regulation to remove a provision that allowed congressional committees to direct the Secretary of the Interior to make emergency withdrawals, addressing constitutional questions that arose from its use.
