DOE Requests Permanent Transfer of 500 Acres of Public Land for Uranium Mill Tailings Repository

The Department of Energy has submitted a proposal to the Secretary of the Interior to permanently transfer 500 acres of public land to the Department of Energy for the construction of a uranium mill tailings repository, exempting it from general land laws and mineral leasing activities.
