Medicare Program; Proposed Standards for E-Prescribing Under Medicare Part D

The Medicare program proposes the adoption of final uniform standards for electronic prescription drug programs, as well as a standard identifier for providers and dispensers, to improve patient safety, quality of care, and cost savings in the delivery of care, in line with the objectives of the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003.
