Coast Guard Amends Regulations for Lease-Financed Vessels Engaged in Coastwise Trade

The U.S. Coast Guard has updated its rules for documenting vessels leased for coastwise trade, which includes passenger and cargo services within the U.S. or between U.S. ports, as well as those used for dredging and towing in U.S. waters. The changes primarily affect vessels owned by foreign companies with a demise charter to a U.S. citizen.
