Indiana Regulatory Program Amendment Proposal Under SMCRA

The Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSM) has announced the receipt of a proposed amendment to the Indiana regulatory program under the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 (SMCRA). Indiana proposes revisions to its rules to allow commercial forestry on reclaimed prime farmland, with the goal of improving operational efficiency.
