NMFS to Issue Permits for Atlantic Highly Migratory Species Collection in 2007
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) plans to issue permits for collecting Atlantic highly migratory species in 2007, including Exempted Fishing Permits (EFPs), Scientific Research Permits (SRPs), Display Permits, Letters of Acknowledgment (LOAs), and Chartering Permits. These permits would allow for limited collections of Atlantic tunas, swordfish, billfishes, and sharks in Federal waters for scientific data collection and public display.
