FAA Adopts New Airworthiness Directive for Boeing 777-200 and -300 Series with Rolls-Royce Engines

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a new airworthiness directive requiring repetitive inspections of Boeing Model 777-200 and -300 series airplanes equipped with Rolls-Royce engines to detect cracks in the thrust reverser's outer V-blades, and to take corrective action if necessary. The directive aims to prevent separation of the thrust reverser during takeoff, which could lead to engine thrust asymmetry and runway excursion.
