FMCSA Amends Commercial Driver's License Standards for School Bus Endorsement

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has updated its regulations to clarify that drivers who passed knowledge and skills tests for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) school bus endorsement before September 30, 2002, meet the requirements for 49 CFR 383.123. The agency has also extended the deadline for states to administer compliant knowledge and skills tests to school bus drivers until September 30, 2006, and adjusted the expiration date for waiving the driving skills test under 49 CFR 383.123(b).
