Agriculture Ministry Proposes Changes to Karnal Bunt Regulations

The Indian government is proposing to relax the rules governing the Karnal bunt disease, allowing farmers to remove fields from regulation after 5 cumulative years of implementing specific management practices, rather than 5 consecutive years, in an effort to provide greater flexibility in planting decisions.
