Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to Share Mortgage Data with HUD

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has finalized a rule allowing the public release of certain mortgage data and information submitted by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, two government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs), to HUD. This change will enable the public to access mortgage data previously considered proprietary, including data on mortgage originations, delinquencies, and foreclosures.
