Florida to Allow Municipal Wells to Continue Operation with New Treatment Requirements

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has revised the Federal Underground Injection Control (UIC) requirements for Class I municipal disposal wells in certain areas of Florida, allowing these wells to continue operating as long as they meet additional wastewater treatment requirements, in order to prevent fluid movement into Underground Sources of Drinking Water (USDWs).
