Atlantic Highly Migratory Species; Atlantic Bluefin Tuna Fisheries

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has decided to transfer 200 metric tons of Atlantic bluefin tuna quota from the general category to the reserve category to prevent overharvesting in the angling category during the 2005-2006 fishing year. This move aligns with the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT) recommendations and U.S. domestic management objectives.
