USNMFS Issues Final Rule for Amendment 6 to Shrimp Fishery Management Plan

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has issued a final rule to implement Amendment 6 to the Fishery Management Plan for the Shrimp Fishery of the South Atlantic Region, which requires commercial vessel permits for trawlers harvesting penaeid shrimp, catch and effort reports, and bycatch reduction devices in the rock shrimp fishery, while also removing outdated provisions and revising stock status determination criteria and yield specifications.
