EPA Agrees to Settle Lawsuit with Environmental Groups Over Clean Air Act Permit
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed a consent decree to settle a lawsuit filed by environmental groups, including the South Jersey Environmental Justice Alliance, over a Clean Air Act permit issued to a Camden, New Jersey energy facility. The groups had alleged that the EPA failed to respond to a petition within 60 days, and the proposed settlement requires the EPA to respond by January 20, 2006, and pay the groups a specified amount.
