NRC Approves FirstEnergy's Beaver Valley Power Station Power Uprate Request

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has released a Draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company's request to increase the maximum reactor power level at Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit Nos. 1 and 2, from 2689 MWt to 2900 MWt, a 8% increase. The NRC staff has determined that the proposed power uprate will not have a significant impact on the human environment, and a 30-day public comment period is open for public review.
