U.S. Department of State to Implement Passport Surcharge Due to Increased Demand

The Department of State is amending its regulation to authorize a surcharge on passport applications to cover the costs of meeting increased demand for passports, following actions taken to comply with the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004.
