FTC Adopts New Routine Use for Disclosure of Protected Records in Response to Data Breaches

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has finalized a new routine use that allows for the disclosure of records protected by the Privacy Act in cases where an agency data breach or compromise may cause harm, enabling the agency to respond, prevent, or remedy such harm.
