FDIC Amends Statement of Policy on Bank Merger Transactions to Conform to Bank Merger Act
The FDIC is updating its policy on bank mergers to align with the Bank Merger Act, eliminating the need for competitive factors reports and post-approval waiting periods for certain types of mergers, and removing outdated references to 'Oakar Transactions'. The changes aim to simplify the merger process and bring the policy in line with the 2006 Financial Services Regulatory Relief Act.
