US Forest Service to Prepare Environmental Impact Statement for Sustainable Forest Ecosystem Study in Sierra National Forest, California
The US Forest Service plans to prepare an environmental impact statement for a sustainable forest ecosystem study in California's Sierra National Forest, which will investigate the effects of uneven-aged, small group selection and prescribed fire on various ecosystem elements. The study, a collaborative effort between the Sierra National Forest and the Pacific Southwest Research Station, aims to monitor and research the response of physical, chemical, and biological features in the Big Creek and Dinkey Creek watersheds.
