CALEA Clarification: Commercial Wireless Push-to-Talk Services Remain Subject to 1994 Act

The FCC issues a Declaratory Ruling clarifying that commercial wireless 'push-to-talk' services are still subject to the 1994 Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act, despite changes in technologies offered by CMRS providers, at the request of the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
