FDA Permits Chlorine Dioxide Production in Food Additives

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has amended its regulations to allow the manufacture of chlorine dioxide, a food additive, through the electrolysis of sodium chlorite solution, in response to a petition from Vulcan Chemicals.
