NMFS Requests Action to End Overfishing of Bigeye Tuna

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has determined that overfishing is occurring on bigeye tuna (Thunnus obesus) across the Pacific Ocean and requests the Western Pacific Fishery Management Council and the Pacific Fishery Management Council to take action by June 14, 2005, to prevent further overfishing.
