FDA Allows Olestra in Prepackaged Popcorn Kernels

The FDA is permitting the safe use of olestra as a fat substitute in prepackaged, unpopped popcorn kernels, following a petition from Procter and Gamble Co. and in response to a food additive petition filed by the company.
