Drawbridge Operation Regulations: Merrimack River, MA

The Commander, First Coast Guard District, has issued a temporary deviation from the drawbridge operation regulations for the Essex Merrimack Bridge, mile 5.8, across the Merrimack River, at Newburyport, Massachusetts. This deviation allows the bridge to remain in the closed position from 6 a.m. on December 13, 2004 through 6 p.m. on December 17, 2004. This temporary deviation is necessary to facilitate structural repairs at the bridge.
