US Social Security Administration Proposes New Rules for Assigning SSNs to Foreign F-1 Students

The US Social Security Administration (SSA) is proposing to add new evidentiary requirements for foreign F-1 students applying for Social Security Numbers (SSNs), including proof of secured employment, to enhance the integrity of SSN assignment processes and reduce the risk of fraud.
