U.S. Government Grants Approval for Importation of Culturally Significant Artwork for Exhibition

The U.S. government has officially approved the importation of culturally significant artwork from abroad for a temporary exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, titled 'Painters of Reality: The Legacy of Leonardo and Caravaggio in Lombardy'. The exhibition, scheduled to take place from May 24 to August 15, 2004, has been deemed to be in the national interest.
