NMFS Prohibits Trawl Gear Fishing in Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands Management Area

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has prohibited fishing with trawl gear in the Chum Salmon Savings Area of the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands management area due to the risk of exceeding the 2002 limit of non-chinook salmon caught by vessels using trawl gear in the Catcher Vessel Operation Area (CVOA).
