Commerce Secretary Approves Changes to Digital Signature Standard

The U.S. Secretary of Commerce has given the green light to updates to the Digital Signature Standard (DSS), extending the deadline for implementation to December 2002 and allowing private sector algorithms like PKCS 1, version 1.5 or higher, during the transition period.
